I recently had to delete and reupload my drupal 8 site and now it does not appear to work despite the fact that I downloaded a full backup of the site then reuploaded every file exactly the way it was. This message now appear when I visit the site:

The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later.
Drupal\Core\Database\DatabaseExceptionWrapper: SQLSTATE[42S02]: Base table or view not found: 1146 Table 'velvetdy_maindb.router' doesn't exist: SELECT name, route FROM {router} WHERE name IN ( :names__0 ); Array ( [:names__0] => system.404 ) in Drupal\Core\Routing\RouteProvider->preLoadRoutes() (line 213 of core/lib/Drupal/Core/Routing/RouteProvider.php).

I would be very grateful if someone on here could provide me with advice on what may be the problem and how can it be fixed without having to essentially start again.

Many thanks,
Darren

Yeah its a bit of a problem with coming in so early. Hopefully it'll be worth it in the long run. Not really sure what the problem was but I accidentally deleted my database and when I created a new one it still wouldn't work. I tried upload a backup of my old one and it worked then. Maybe thats similar to what you may have done. Sorry I cant be of any more help but I'm not too experienced with web design to give a technical answer. Hopefully somebody else will be able to give you better advice - I know how annoying it can be when you cant solve something like this!
