You know, I don't really understand why we have a single MAINTAINERS that applies to all branches anyway. Why should the D8 MAINTAINERS have anything about D7 in it, much less older versions?

klausi’s picture

@jhodgdon yes, it is a bit confusing, but probably off-topic for this issue. Care to open a separate one to discuss branches and what should be in MAINTAINERS.txt?

Not really... but I don't know why we should particularly remove D6 at this time.

I think it does make sense if you need to look up who to talk to for backports, etc. You don't need to open the other branch docs. Also for credit. We also keep the changelog for the past versions for all the branches. Ie. D7 changelog has all the D6 releases, etc.

@jhodgon: we remove d6 now because it has been marked unsupported a couple of days ago.

Yes I think it's potentially useful for people using an 8.x tarball from scratch, it shows what the structure of the previous releases is.

Gabor definitely deserves to be off the hook in the docs. Comitted/pushed to 8.1.x, and cherry-picked to 8.0.x.

Should also backport to 7.x.
