Page refresh after SSO login

After successful SSO the whole page is reloaded. However when I use Facebook login, only the disqus block refreshes. I understand this behaviour might be related to the user being logged in to the site also but it's bad UX since the page state is lost after page reload.
Is there a way to implement custom ajax callback to prevent this behaviour and only reload Disqus block and whatever needs to be reloaded (user menu,...)?
I'm happy to help with implementation of such a feature.
