The next release of Storage API will be ending support for PHP 5.3. The current dev branch and future releases will not work with PHP 5.3 due mainly to the use of short array annotations. Version 1.8 of the Storage API module will be the last version that will operate with PHP 5.3.

PHP 5.3 was EOL 14 August 2014.

The module will still operate with PHP 5.4 (which is also EOL) but we will not support issues arising from PHP 5.4; however, at the moment we do not know of any potential problems with 5.4.
