Lightning will tag patch releases every three to four weeks. Minor releases will be tagged when new features are introduced. (Our release nomenclature)
We will keep this issue up-to-date with pointers to the roadmap for each release.

Lightning will make unscheduled releases every time core is updated including patch releases. Lightning will also make releases when one of its dependencies has a security release. Schedule:
|Core Patch||48 Hours||12 Hours|
|Core Minor||48 Hours||12 Hours|
|Core - with security fix||12 Hours||2 Hours|
|Dependency||Next scheduled release||N/A|
|Dependency - with security fix||24 Hours||12 Hours|
Note that users who manage their project through Composer do not have to wait for Lightning to make releases to update Drupal core and certain dependencies. Updates to core and most contrib dependencies will happen automatically with the
composer update command.
