First of all sorry for my bad English.
In my site I'm using both Display Suite and Panels.
In DS I enabled the View mode per node, Page title options, Region to block EXTRAS options.
DS is used everywhere except in few Variants created, for existing nodes, with Panels (to do that I had to enable page_manager - view_node in Pages).
Everything worked fine until I updated DS to 7.x-2.11.

Now I'm getting 2 malfunctions but without any error message.
1) In the Edit Node form I can't edit the current Display setting - View mode for ANY page node of my site (any Content type).
Even if I switch to a different view mode, and the setting is saved, nothing changes.
2) The Extras_DS blocks I created are not displayed but ONLY in the Variants.
I use Context to set the blocks display.

To solve the first problem I had to disable page_manager - view_node in Pages but this way I can't create Variants for existing nodes.

I made a check and I was able to recreate these problems using a much simpler test site.
I made several searches and the closest search result I found is https://www.drupal.org/node/1536994.
Maybe the mine is an edge use case.
Before opening an issue I preferred to wait for a few following DS updates to see if the problems I'm experiencing could be solved, but that didn't happen.
There are obviously some workarounds to get the results I expect so all that isn't too bad but it's a little disappointing to have to find different solutions because, as I wrote, everything worked fine until ds 7.x-2.10.

I've run into the same issue. Specifically, if I have a node_view page enabled in page manager, I can't actually see the results of the DS view mode per node. On the Display Settings tab for the node in question, it looks like the custom view mode has been successfully selected, but the final output of the node uses the default view mode.

The only other page type I have enabled currently is a term_view, and that doesn't seem to affect DS view modes. I'm using ds 7.x-2.14 on Drupal 7.54. Like paolo m., I can work around this, but it would be nice to be able to use both modules together.
