Hi
All content that I do NOT want to be promoted to the front page IS being promoted to the front page and visa versa.
Consequently I am having to tick the box "promoted to front page" if I do not want content to do that.
It was working fine until I created a content type and a view.
However I have disabled the view and it still happens.
i have changed the default theme and it still happens.
I have updated to 8.03 and it still happens
I am using Acquia devdesktop on windows 10
(The other issue is that Acquia dev desktop keeps throwing up a server error 505 but I guess this isnt the place for that)
It was working fine until tonight.
Below is a recurring log message - the page referred to changes but it does keep popping up regularly. I am using the Omega theme but as I say the above problem remains when I switch to any of the others (Bartik and Stark)

does the issue occur with a core theme set as default?

how is the current front page view set up? Are you sure the content: Promoted to front page (=Yes) filter is set?

Thanks for getting back
I tried Garland and Stark and problem remains
Content type Page is NOT set to "promoted to front page"
Content type Article IS set to "promoted to front page"
However I have to uncheck individual articles for them to be promoted to front page.
For individual pages I have to check "promoted to front page" for them NOT to.
I have updated core to 8.03 and the problem remains so it isn't a problem with core.
It isn't a problem with Omega 5 as it still happens with core Themes.
Weird indeed!
Not sure how to send a pic but I could send views settings for page but haven't touched it.

Hi
I have also reluctantly removed the new content type I created and its views and also cleared cache and still the reversal of "promoted to front page" settings is the only way I can get it working correctly :/

On the front page there is the option to "edit view".
On clicking this it shows:
FILTER CRITERIA
Add filter criteria
List additional actions
Content: Promoted to front page (= No)
Content: Publishing status (= Yes)
Content: Translation language (= Content language selected for page)

It should read:
Content: Promoted to front page
(= Yes)
