I'm using variable_extra and I defined a multiple file_managed variable.
I've seen that variable_form_submit_callback() does not handle this case correctly, i.e. it does not call the 'submit callback' correctly (which is variable_file_form_file_managed_submit() in my case).
I'm attaching a patch that fixes this.
