I set up a new Drupal 8.0.2 and created the Hello World example module. I added the Admin Toolbar. I also removed the following blocks:
Footer menu
Powered by Drupal
Search
Tools
I then updated to version 8.0.3. On completion of update.php, I got the following message (see attached file):
The block bartik_footer was assigned to the invalid region -1 and has been disabled.
The block bartik_powered was assigned to the invalid region -1 and has been disabled.
The block bartik_search was assigned to the invalid region -1 and has been disabled.
The block bartik_tools was assigned to the invalid region -1 and has been disabled.
This looks minor but probably shouldn't happen.

cilefen CreditAttribution: cilefen commentedI am moving this to the Bartik theme queue.

swentel CreditAttribution: swentel commentedProbably belongs to the block.module - I think this is a warning which has been there since a very long time IIRC, not tied to Drupal 8 alone.

cilefen CreditAttribution: cilefen commented@swentel There is nothing wrong with the warning per se. It is usually "real".

wafer CreditAttribution: wafer at Novatree commented@quentinfinknottle,as far I am aware of this block is no more in this new version,so classy regions are set by default, which doesn't match to your old batik theme.
Good to go,sounds nothing wrong go ahead with ignoring it.

emma.mariaThis is not a Bartik specific issue. I assume this would happen with any theme and is related to Blocks.

quietone CreditAttribution: quietone at PreviousNext commented@QuentinFinknottle, Thank you for reporting this problem. We rely on issue reports like this to improve Drupal core.
Drupal 8 is now End of life and is no longer supported. However, I was curious and repeated the steps in the IS starting on Drupal 9.3.2 and upgrading to Drupal 9.4.0-alpha1 and did not get any error message about the removed blocks.
Therefore, closing as outdated. If this is incorrect reopen the issue, by setting the status to 'Active', and add a comment explaining what still needs to be done.
Thanks!
