Can't save entity as group, because [name] can't be subscribed to group and become a manager.

The only way i can remove the error is by disabling the field_access sub-module.

i raised this issue a while back and didnt get any feedback and it has brought my project (one which is based around og) to a standstill. i scrapped the old project to start again from scratch and things were initially working ok (creating groups without error) and now i'm seeing the same error after initially working ok. I believe the error remains critical as it is dependent upon the field access module - yet the message makes no sense in this context.

at the moment i am proceeding with the field_access sub module disabled and its working (without field access control!) im getting desperate to resolve this can anyone drop me a line? is this not a duplicate of a resolved issue? any help appreciated i am getting way behind my schedule due to this single error.
