Main menu repeated

When I installed the Nice Menu and put the main menu in the header, the main menu was still there in the header like it was before I put the main menu; I had two copies -- the Nice, and the default.

To remove the old default menu, I had to go to Home » Administration » Appearance » Settings, select the theme I was using, and Toggle the Display of the main menu to off.
