Provide plain text formatter for views_handler_field_node_link

The following field handler (views_handler_field_node_link, known as: Provide a simple link to the content) doesn't seems to have any formatters.
I would expect the formatters such as link (default) and the plain URL text, since I'd like to have ability to print only plain URL (for XML output).

Not sure if possible to re-use hook_field_formatter_info(), if the handler isn't really a field? Or there is no such thing like formatters for non-fields and basically it needs to be implemented manually?
