Hello,

If I understand well, when one chooses a field to be of hierarchical select type, can chose in the options to sort or not terms inside the dropbox.

I have tried with or without checking the box and my terms are always inserted in the dropbox by alphabetical order of the parent element, and the same for each subterm.

Is there something I am missing? I wanted to be able to chose the order of the terms so they appear according to my preference when displaying the list.

Is this maybe an intentional functionality? If yes, what the auto sort button stands for?

I am trying to accomplish something similar (non alphabetic sorting). But I do not see this checkbox anywhere. Where did you find it kernel52?
Also, for me it is not quite clear what you are trying to accomplish. What sorting would you like to have? I think it might be related to or even duplicate of #466828: Disable the automatic sort in Hierarchical Select

I appreciate your time to reply, please accept my apoligies for not replying on time but i never got a mail to be alerted on your reaction. Allow me to have a week or so, to revise the problem and come back with more details on what I wanted to do. Since January i had used a different approach with a different module and now I will have to reproduce the issue myself in order to explain it to you, atthe moment my question is also a bit unclear to me :)

I haven't seen this topic while searching. Your update fixes the problem. I have to check on a clean installation as now, for some reason it doesn't save my selection after adding the items to the dropbox, but I need to investigate before saying anything more.
