8.x version planned?

My site currently runs Drupal 6.37 and I want to upgrade directly to Drupal 8 before support for 6.x expires, because this should be easier and more permanent than upgrading to 7.x. However we rely on the Project Issue Tracking module and there does not appear to be a version 8.x of it. Is anything in the pipeline?
