If the site you're pushing changes to does not have write access to the configuration files' directory (such as what Pantheon provides as its test and live environments) then the Stop Tracking
links on the Tracking page and unchecking the Preserve tracked configurations
option on the Synchronization page generate the error message The current user does not have write permissions in the directory config://.
This error occurs regardless of the This is a remote server
setting on the Settings page.
This situation comes about when you start tracking a number of things in dev, push the configuration to a read-only test or live environment, and then change your mind later and want to untrack something. So you untrack it in dev, which works fine because you have write access to the config files, and push that new setup to test and live. On test and live the formerly-tracked items will be listed as Active Store Only
but you can't untrack them in those environments, because this module wants to write stuff to the config files.
