aarailfan CreditAttribution: aarailfan commentedEasiest way to duplicate this is to activate views, verify that the frontpage view is enabled and that you have some content published to front page. Then you will see something like the attached. I'll hopefully have more time to research this tonight.

What you are seeing is the background for the page title. In drupal 8 the Page Title is in a block. If you look at the configuration for that block in admin you can hide the block for . Mayo figures that if you have a page title it wouldn't be empty so it gives a background. See if that works for you.
