fails to load font with a space in a name, wrong uri formated

We tried to use this module for a fall back font, but we got error 404:
GET http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open_Sans

Should be: http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans

So the problem is that space " " being converted to "_" while making request. It should be converted to "+"
