BTW Don't we need a 8.x Version tag for this issue queue? Even though Migrate is in core/modules we should be able to raise issues on the D8 version. And a version tag is required to raise an issue.

Any way .... it would be great if some knowledgeable person could update the "Getting started with Migrate" page for D8. For example there is no migrate_example supplied in core/modules

Now that Migrate is in core for Drupal 8, issues related to Migrate (including documentation) belong in the core queue, not the contrib queue for the former versions of Migrate. There's a meta for migration documentation issues at #2561243: [meta] Migration system documentation.

As for migrate_example, in D8 it's part of the migrate_plus project.
