dddave CreditAttribution: dddave commentedContacted the maintainer. Let's see if and how he reacts.

holyfire CreditAttribution: holyfire as a volunteer commentedOk so it's been 4 weeks without any contact from the maintainer, updates to any of the issues on the board. Per drupal.org's documentation you really should pull this module down. https://www.drupal.org/node/251466.
The existing maintainer is non-responsive. At a bare minimum we are doing a disservice to the community by leaving a module listed as "actively maintained" when obviously this module is not. I'm also not sure why this was postponed when clearly we'd met the obligations to close this particular module down.

dddave CreditAttribution: dddave commentedI have changed the projects status. Given the relatively large userbase but the lack of outrage about a broken module I suspect it is still somehow working for a lot of people. As a very complicated feature project this can fail all over the place and we won't dive into specific debugging.

dddave CreditAttribution: dddave commentedBtw: last commit and dev release had been in march so this module is definitely not abandoned (albeit not as well maintained as can be hoped and was advertised).

holyfire CreditAttribution: holyfire as a volunteer commented@dddave - Just to clarify the last recommended release version was 2013-Dec-18, with the last dev version in 2015-mar-05. With no response from a maintainer in 4+ weeks I'm not sure how this could be considered a minimally maintained module. This indication gives a false indication that the module is usable and functional. From my direct experience this module is broken and will not work out of the box, according to the drupal.org documentation and procedure for projects no longer maintained/abandoned the status of the project should be clearly reflected.
I understand your hesitancy in pulling the module down, in which case you have the authority to update the project to indicate that it's actively seeking a maintainer.
I hate to see such a visible high profile module linger... I think our goal is one and the same....

holyfire CreditAttribution: holyfire as a volunteer commented@dddave, I'd also recommend that you test this module by downloading and installing all the dependencies. If you can get the module to work out of the box I would be very surprised.

holyfire CreditAttribution: holyfire as a volunteer commented@dddave I have yet to see this issue resolved, I am also willing to take on ownership of this project and help coordinate what needs to be done (likely sandboxing this module until progress can be made and/or coordinating additional development). It's not reasonable to leave an abandoned/orphaned module active when it does not work as advertised. I think more than a reasonable amount of time has taken place here to start making decisions.

dddave CreditAttribution: dddave commentedI've added you as maintainer of the project. Feel free to alter the project page or actually fix the module. If after a while of maintenance you still want to completely take over the project feel free to ping this issue again. This project will not be sandboxed! If it does not work use the project page and the project/dev status to indicate that. I am again pointing out that there are over 600 reported installs.
