Hello All,
as the topic says, I've enabled maintenance mode on my D8 installation, saved configuration settings but the maintenance mode page isn't showing. Any ideas what might cause this?
Thanks

You probably have to logout
You probably have to logout to see the maintenance page. It's only shown for people who don't have the permission: "Use the site in maintenance mode" (in D7) .. Not sure what it is in D8, but I guess it's behaving similar.

Thanks but even if logged out
Thanks but even if logged out I don't see the maintenance page (I made sure I flushed the browser cache but still no luck)
Not really a huge deal but I'd like to find out why I don't get the maintenance page.

and if you point the browser to a path other than the front page?
pointing to a different path
pointing to a different path shows the maintenance page - that's interesting. Now i just need to figure out how to get the maintenance page to show for the home page......make the "other" page default home I presume.
And hey presto, that works now, site url now brings up maintenance page.
Thanks for the tip
Looks like you will have to
Looks like you will have to clear drupal cache as well. If that works, you might want to create a bug report, cause i don't think that is intended behaviour.
Did i answer your question on the forums? I love to hear a reply wether or not it worked for you!

cache clear doesn't have an impact. seems setting the front page to /node/ doesn't trigger the maintenance page. I venture clicking on a node title in the front page then kicks it in. Not sure if this is intentional or not. I actually think I prefer it. Stops the maintenance page getting cached by searched bots when enabled.
still happens
does this problem have a light? because it still happens to me and i don't know how to fixed it. (drupal 8.x)
I had the exact same problem,
I had the exact same problem, but clearing the cache solved it, thankfully.
If you have the Global
If you have the Global Redirect module enabled, then you may need to uncheck the 'Frontpage Redirect Handler' option at admin/config/system/globalredirect
Every Node still shows
I just moved the site to Lightsail with a bitnami image and am having this problem. Every node shows in the "Operating in maintenance mode. Go Online" link over the actual page. I have to stop the server to take it down. Ive tried it in incognito mode on multiple device and cleared the caches.
