memory consumption after upgrade to 7x 3.13

I upgraded views to 7x 3.13. While having 1GB memory available and 320Mb in the previous version I get:
theme.inc on line 1125 Backend fatal error: PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 1069547520 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 130968 bytes)
