Understanding Domain Access

I have taken over a site that uses the awesome Domain Access module to handle four different domains. Now I have noticed that a node's Domain-Access-Settings are set to published on: www.domain1.com. The node is NOT assigned to "all affiliates".

No checkboxes are set for www.domain2.com, www.domain3.com www.domain4.com

The URL is www.domain1.com/carreer. However, when I go to www.domain2.com/carreer or www.domain3.com/carreer the same content is visible (I am logged out) and also the sidebar-menu belonging to it. I take it that this is faulty behavior. www.domain2.com/carreer should throw a access denied or something, right?

I have checked: https://www.drupal.org/node/1172680; I also rebuilt node access permissions and checked permissions for the module. There is only one node access module in use: Domain Access.

If anyone could point me to the source of the problem it would be very much appreciated.
