Entries in "Other Groups" requires putting the numeric node ID in paranthesis

When as master site admin I edit the Access control tab of a page where there is Group Audience with Your Groups and Other Groups, if I enter in something like "IT Group" in the Other Groups and save I get no error message but it does not take. I have to enter in "IT Group (224)" to get it to take. Either it should not silently fail if the ID in parens is required or the ID should not be required.
