When selecting "unlimited" under "Number of values". The node editing interface shows automatically an additional empty field. This itself is not disturbing but combined with another bug, which makes all open/shown fields mandatory you cannot use unlimited mandatory fiels

Apparently this is not a bug, but default behaviour.
