Event not opening in colorbox.

I installed the module, i already had colorbox installed, i created a view, added a date field, and under the settings chose colorbox overlay.

the colorbox overlay does pop up, but it is empty inside. I have seen YouTube videos where it is working fine for others. What am I missing?
