# Summary
As of November 20, 2015, several users are discussing a D8 port here. Maintainer Dave Reid indicated on November 20, 2015, that this module is eventually intended to be ported to D8.
Google offers numerous options for verifying a site that can be accomplished separately from the Site Verification or other modules. For example:
- Use Google Tag Manager (recommended) to paste the tracking code snippet into its own file, then include it in your page header.
- Add a meta tag to your home page.
- Upload an HTML file with the name you specify to your server.
- Verify via your domain name provider.
- Add the Google Analytics code you use to track your site.
Visit Google Analytics Help for further explanation. The smaller search providers like Bing/Yahoo (combined as of 2015), offer a similar variety of options that will allow site verification without the use of a D8 module for early D8 adopters.
