Yup Drupal 8 has some bug / issue where HTML in Views fields is now being escaped. I have yet to find a fix or workaround for this problem. I am going to keep looking for a workaround but we might have to wait for an upstream fix.

Is there any way I can get some extra rotator images on the front page?

I upgraded to 2015-Oct-26 version. It has changed what happens to the rotator but it is still not right. I have included images to show the results. You will notice the buttons that normally are below the images are gone on the existing images. They show up on the new rotator but no new image shows up just this "> ">

Can you try to do a clean install? The images are working for me

I had done an upgrade. It happens when I add an image or unpublish and republish a rotator.

I think my database got corrupted. I did a new install with a new database and most of my problems were solved
