There are plans on porting this project to Drupal 8 ? Now the feature have release this project can be very helpful to import all my variables (configuration).

Features is currently using the configuration from CMI, in addition CMI does everything that this project was intended to do. Do we still have a reason to keep maintain this project or should we deprecated it ?

I don't think this will need to be ported since you can export variables in configuration and move the config from site to site.

Actually, @Kristen Pol is right.

I open this issue before I started playing around with Features and it seem like features is already using the configuration from CMI. Meaning that I think this project might be deprecated.
