The spinner included here: https://github.com/commerceguys/commerce_kickstart/blob/7.x-2.x/drupal-o... should be removed, as the library is not supported anymore.

your patch works well removing the spinner, which was causing me trouble with jQuery 1.9.

But do you have any hint on how to use instead https://jqueryui.com/spinner/ ?

You do not need to apply this patch anymore, but instead you can now disable the spinner as shown in #1961364
