Just checking—if I remember correctly, File Entity and Media used to need to be the same version. Currently File Entity is 7.x-2.0-beta2 while Media is 7.x-2.0-beta1.
Should I install those versions, or install 7.x-2.0-beta1 for both?

We make releases near the same time, so basically just use the last stable release of each (even though at this point they don't exactly match). If you update one, make sure to update the other.
