resmush.it for version 6.x

Hi,
thanks to the patch available here: https://www.drupal.org/node/2458453 version 7.x is compatible with the service resmush.it, now that Smush.it is no longer available. I had a look to apply the same patch to version 6 but the structure is quite different and there isn't even a folder "services".
Is someone willing to help? Thanks
Additionally, resmush.it use JPEGOptim that preserve Exif data, crucial on my site where they are used to geocode images.
