With Drupal 8 nearing RC status, having this module available from the get-go would be a tremendous help for people thinking of building a site directly on D8.

I have been looking into doing this too, as we already have a sizable Discourse instance running.

If the maintainer could let us know if this is on his radar / We can work together / Looking for new D8 maintainer that would be awesome.

Seems the best bet would be to either convert it ourselves to Drupal8 or consider using the oauth2_server and in turn using Discourse's Oauth2 client.

I would also like to know the maintenance status and roadmap for this module. We are considering integrating Discourse with our Drupal site in the near future.

Maintainer has been off the Drupal radar for 18 months, has anyone attempted to contact him?

Considering that even his drupal test sites are offline, it looks like he's moved on. Perhaps someone may want to volunteer to pick up where he left off.

I went ahead and ported a barebones version to Drupal8.
It currently syncs account name, id, and email.

I'll go ahead and work on avatar syncing and allowing other fields later.
If anyone is interested in helping, it would of course be greatly appreciated.

I've gone ahead and posted a quick but incomplete (but functioning) module over at
https://www.drupal.org/node/2880123

When I have time I'll be addressing the issues mentioned in it and then proceed to add additional features as needed.

Has anyone done any work with this? Entertaining a new project that's using Discourse but it seems like this project is not active.

Same question here. I think that could be awesome to integrate Discourse in Drupal (same login, for example).
