I have installed the nexus theme into my hosting account and there is no default slideshow that appears nor is there a module anywhere to be found. How can i access this?

This slideshow is not a module, but is included in page.tpl.php (you can see the code that is from line 97 to line 139) so if you do not appear check that is enabled option "Show slideshow" in Appearance > Options of the theme Nexus.
