In version 7.x-1.12, the option for Localization support and an option to choose your language are offered.

While Disqus does translate to the given language most strings, some strings remain unchanged and unaffected by both Disqus international translation team and the Localization system in Drupal.

There are two main examples of this :

- In the Disqus commenting area, the option Recommend is shown only in English. I checked the French Disqus team, and it should be translated in this Disqus widget.

- The block disqus_recent_comments shows x hours/days/months ago in English only. In this case, the words look exclusive to the Drupal Disqus module but ignore any Drupal localizations.

I have not tried though using the Display Suite (DS) module with Disqus... Maybe it unblocks this issue, but of course this is a bug in any case.

Could maintainers here at least acknowledge this bug ?

My users are French. For example, when posting as a guest, they see way below a subtle checkmark written "I'd rather post as a guest". If it were in French, it would help avoid the confusion (mind you posting as a guest in Disqus is inherently confusing at this moment).

Entire user-facing Disqus interface is translated on Disqus side AFAIK. If you still think there is a bug on a module side we'll be happy to review and commit any submitted patch.

It's an objective situation : look at any French site that uses Disqus and look at it as a guest. Many of the strings, especially "I'd rather post as a guest" are not translated. That specific string causes confusion (I had one user write to complain about it).

Look at the attached snapshot: just one of the numerous examples I found (source of snapshot). It is exactly the same on my own web site and all others as far as I can see.

The example used in on a Wordpress site. Disqus on my Drupal 7 has the exact same untranslated strings.

Nb: one tiny mistake in the image. I circled "Mot de passe" because it is sometimes shown as "Password" on some French sites. On the other hand, this snapshot says "Email".

I am not sure what point are you trying to make. What you just explained proves that translations need to be done on Disqus side IMO.

Yes, true, it is a Disqus issue.

But I just foolishly thought the Drupal module might allow a "localisation", which I realize now might not be possible.

True. We can only affect output that we produce. In this case most of output comes from Disqus.
