Hello,
I was using a sub-theme of Bootstrap 7.x-2.2 , now I am planing to upgrade the base theme to Bootstrap 7.x-3.0 because the Bootstrap 7.x-2.2 support stopped.
If I upgrade the base theme , do I need to create the sub-theme again ? I have tried to upgrade the base theme along , but it is creating so many UI related issues in my sub-theme, that was created using Bootstrap 7.x-2.2 . Is it a good to upgrade or better to stay in 7.x-2.2 version ?
Please let me know your suggestions .

Thank you ,

Hm, I don't remember unchecking support for 7.x-2.2... maybe @wundo did because of the very low usage numbers.

Even though it seems we have stopped support (e.g. committing anything to the 7.x-2.x) branch, that doesn't necessarily mean you have to upgrade. I guessing you got a message/warning somewhere about this during the update process? I would be fine adding 7.x-2.2 back if that quiets any messages.

The reality is this: Bootstrap 2 is much different from Bootstrap 3. If you already have a site built on BS2 (e.g. manual content that has BS2 classes etc.), then I probably wouldn't upgrade. That is until you can spend significant time going through and migrating everything to Bootstrap 3.

That being said, if you are going to upgrade to 7.x-3.x, I would wait until 7.x-3.1 comes out which has many fixes from 7.x-3.0 (or you can attempt 7.x-3.x-beta3).

I would first read the official Bootstrap documentation: Migrating to v3.x.
Then there is our own "un-official" migration documentation: Migrate Bootstrap sub-themes from 2.x to 3.0 (although I am unaware how accurate it is).
