I want to make the following edit to the front page of the Installation Guide:

After the paragraph that starts with "Before proceeding ..." and before the one that starts with "For help ...", I propose adding the paragraph:

============================
Before making your website publicly available on the Internet, you probably will want to build and test it in an offline development environment. When it is working to your satisfaction in the development environment, you can then upload it to a Web host for serving online. To install Drupal on your own computer for a local development environment, see the article, Local server setup.
============================

I wish that paragraph was there when I was getting started with Drupal. If you unlock this page for me, I will add it.

Thank you.

This proposed paragraph to the front page of the Installation Guide is not necessary because the idea of setting up a local development server seems to be already a part of the best practices in use test sites for Drupal.

Maybe the transition from development to production could be described more in best practices as an alternative.
