"My issues" view does not show assigned issues

The "My issues" view (project_issue_user_issues) does only show issues where the user is the author or submitted a comment, but not issues the user is just assigned to. So if a user gets assigned to an issue by another person and he didn't create that issue or left a comment before he got assigned, the issue won't show up in his "My issues" view and he has no way of knowing that he got assigned to that issue. He also doesn't get an e-mail if he is assigned, but I think that's already mentioned here: https://www.drupal.org/node/2507009

Would be really nice if there would be some fast way to fix the view - I'm no view expert and would appreciate some help.
