I am using
Media 7.x-2.0-alpha 3
Media:Youtube 7.x-3.0
with Display Suite 7.x-2.11

I have a file field through which I either upload a video from my local drive or download a video from YouTube. In either case, the video previews in the node edit form, but it does not display in the final node display.

I have tried every format of the field in the DS manage display form.

The field does not display in any way - no player, no video, no URL (when I choose the URL format), no label, no blank box, nothing.

I'm fairly certain that the field displayed at some time in the past, but it's been more than 7 months since I last revised the content type in which this field appears, so I don't know when it stopped displaying.

I'm stumped. Do you have suggestions for how to go about troubleshooting this?

I'm sorry but this seems very project specific. I build sites with videos on a daily basis so I know this is not a Display Suite issue.
The only way to debug these kinda things is just looking at the code, if you're not a coder you should try to find one.
