Advanced section options "Allow search engines to index this page (assumed)" and "Allow search engines to follow links on this page (assumed)" are not checked by default but says assumed. Am I required to check it to allow search engines to index page? If assumed means already allowed, then why not already checked. Please clarify.

DamienMcKennaThere is no difference between setting those values and having the robots meta tag displayed with them versus not outputting them, they are really only available for completeness, because there are probably some SEO consultants or company requirements that state they must be displayed.
