Dear All

I am going to install a mainsite.com in html root directory, language is English
and i need install second language Chinese in sub-folder. like mainsite.com/chn
i am going to use different theme, different css and layout.

i googled and search, the multisite installation were talking about different domains, like site1.com and site2.com and sitex.com, not my case in same domain with different languages in sub-folder

i googled and search, the multi language installation were talking about translation, i DO NOT like online translation

so in my case, how to do, anyone has same experience or there is documents available i just did find it.

using Godaddy shared server, so there is restrict to access those apache, php, such configurations.

thanks in advance.

Sam

No, you should do it the drupal way to install!

Look at https://www.drupal.org/documentation/multilingual.

I think you need only to do ONE drupal installation, the rest may be only translation and theming...

Good luck!

It sounds like the English site and the Chinese site don't really have anything to do with one another, is that right? If so, then you can install drupal in a subfolder of another drupal install. I'm not sure you need documentation, you can just do it.

Otherwise, you should follow wusel's advice and do it the Drupal way. You don't have to use subdomains.

If you want to have two independent websites, then build them in two different subfolders of your webserver to avoid any conflicts.

In the DNS administration of your webadresses you should be able to build the correct links to your (sub)websites.

This should be the save way..., especially at the beginning using Drupal. Please check your webserver contract (DNS !) first!

Or look at Multi-site on XAMPP for Windows (https://www.drupal.org/node/1682040).
I know, that you don't use XAMPP, but the steps are the same!
And you have to use DNS using this way.

Good luck!

since these two web do not share their database and with no member registration, no data interaction. should be fine.
