At admin/structure/formatters/add I selected token engine and Date field type and clicked to token explorer. In token explorer I am missing Date field info, but using "[date:short]" on blind works. When editing existing token (admin/structure/formatters/list/*) Date field tokens are in tokens explorer.

Confirmed, changing the field type isn't triggering the Token explorer to be regenerated, which it really should.

Simple workaround; 'Save & Edit' straight after creation.
