Seeking new maintainer [#2540976]

Unfortunately, I no longer have the time or the interest to give this project the attention it deserves. Co-maintainer Andrew Schulman also cannot commit more time to the project at the moment. Therefore, we both agree that someone else should take the leadership.

Despite neglect on my part, the module's popularity has always been increasing. Role Delegation still fulfills a real need in the Drupal ecosystem, and I think users appreciate the fact that it delivers what it advertises, without trying to do too much. In the last few days, people have contacted me, expressing interest in a port to Drupal 8 (#2400813: Port to Drupal 8) and in taking care of the issue queue. The project needs a maintainer that will take it to the next level!

If you're interested, please let us know here. Naturally, people who have helped in the issue queue will have an edge.

Hi Ravindra,

Thank you for expressing interest towards maintaining the module. I see that you have contributed patches to a few projects, which is great. However, most of your code contributions seem rather superficial so far. Of course, that is a very good and positive way to familiarize yourself with some modules and to start contributing to them. I encourage you to continue on that path, addressing increasingly complex issues as you go. You are showing great motivation and potential!

However, the current maintainers of Role Delegation won't have time for mentoring, unfortunately. We hope to find not a co-maintainer, but a new project owner that has a good track record at solving complex issues, and providing project leadership. Of course, I may be totally underestimating you. You can always prove me wrong by demonstrating your skills in Role Delegation's issue queue. In the meantime, we'll keep this issue open.

I've taken over the maintenance of this project, the D8 module looks to be in good shape over on Github so my first focus will be getting that back to drupal.org and doing any required clean-up.
