I can probably do this with a code field, but I'm wondering if there's a simple way to display the User Picture without it including a link back to the user profile. There is no option in the toggle to not link it to the content.

-> In Account setting (i.e.admin/config/people/accounts).
-> Add one "user image" field in "manage fields".
-> In "manage Display" user account section disabled user picture.
-> And show new "user image" field.
-> "user image" field setting in manage display "Link image to >>nothing".
-> Even this help in user view in Display Suite format.
Hope this helps.
Thanks!
