I am trying to run the mkoutput.sh script on a mac.
It could be useful to add the necessary steps to the readme.

batigolixThis was needed to get the script to work:
brew install asciidoc xmlto
echo "export XML_CATALOG_FILES=/usr/local/etc/xml/catalog" >> ~/
.bash_profile
source ~/.bash_profile
The OS is Mac OSX 10.9.5 and Homebrew is installed
My .bash_profile did not have a new line at the end, so in 1st instance the export line was appended incorrectly
I disable line 54 of mkoutput.sh because I haven't got ebook-convert installed

jhodgdonThat looks like a bug. In Linux, the installer if you use yum or apt-get, should set up the required environment variables... I guess that is not working in Mac OS? Anyway, sure we can add that to the README.

batigolixFrom what I find via Google it seems people that try to get asciidoc working on a Mac run into similar problems. (People that compile git also need asciidoc to generate Git docs, so there are quite some reports)
Anyhow, these were the steps that made it work for me and I wanted to keep them in a safe place.

jhodgdonHopefully someone will report these issues to the appropriate place so that the "brew" packages can be fixed.
Meanwhile, want to make a patch for the README?
jhodgdonI added your instructions to the README.
batigolixI'm convinced that I wont remember any of this next time when I need to install the packages, so it is good to have it documented somewhere.
