Haven't filed any issue in d.org for a while now so not sure if I'm filing this under the correct project - feel free to move if not.
So after one visits their "My issues" page, there is a "Create a new issue" link at the top left leading to the "Submit issue" page:
If you start by typing "Drupal" in the "Project" autocomplete field, a list of suggestions comes up with "Drupal core" at the top:
...since that's what I was looking for, that's what I chose. Hit the "next" button:

apadernoI tried the same, and selecting Drupal Core: Rob Loach Edition from the autocomplete list allows me to create an issue. That is indeed not the expected behaviour, considering that Drupal core is a complete project name.

kenorb CreditAttribution: kenorb commentedThe same for: "Profile 2" at https://www.drupal.org/node/add/project-issue
Although some issues for 'Profile 2' ended up in sandbox somehow, e.g. #1445616: 'Personal contact form' reset with hook_user_presave from Profile2 profile, #2049129: Profile2 fields not saved, #1228062: Feeds integration., #1417596: Problems with a rule to allow users to change role, #1273026: Profile2 context from relationship doesn't work, so I've moved them into appropriate main project issue queue.

apadernoThe autocomplete should come from this project. If Drupal.org is using custom code for this, I apologize for moving the issue to the wrong queue.
