Are there any plans to update a Drupal 8 version? I'd be interested in working on this, but am not sure the best way to update the project. (For example, move it to GitHub, or a bunch of patches)

I've just pushed an (unmodified) 8.x-1.x branch to https://github.com/grasmash/drupal-usasearch. Feel free to fork and submit pull requests.

If it is ready for a beta could we get a release on Drupal.org for it?

ericpugh@jrglasgow Last tested the dev version was working, I'll try testing on the most recent version of core and releasing a beta.

schiavone CreditAttribution: schiavone commented@ericpugh @grasmash's post is two years old. A lot has changed in the module since then. I'm not sure what the status of that fork is but the Drupal 8 based on 7.x-5.x is in the works. The fork is not yet available. ETA is first quarter of this year.

schiavone CreditAttribution: schiavone commented@RoloDMonkey the D8 module does not use search API. The DigitalGov Search indexing service has its own API.

schiavone CreditAttribution: schiavone commentedThe dev version of DigitalGov Search is now available with a beta soon on the way. Try it out.
Marking this issue fixed.
