DatabaseSchemaObjectExistsException: Table captcha_points already exists. [#2507215]

I am getting the following error on enabling this module:

DatabaseSchemaObjectExistsException: Table captcha_points already exists. in DatabaseSchema->createTable() (line 657 mysitepath/includes/database/schema.inc).
The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later.

Using version 7.x-1.3 of Captcha module.

I can't uninstall the module because it doens't appear in the modules to uninstall list. I have disabled so that my site functions, but would like to use this module if possible.

Not able to reproduce this issue. Please provide more background if possible. I have heard of other people receiving the same error on other modules.

I had to reenable the module essentially by checking it, getting the error message, then going back to the module list and saving it again, the error oddly didn't appear again.

I used the devel module's reinstall tool, because I still couldn't get the disabled captcha module to appear in the uninstall list.

Went to site_root/devel/reinstall and checked the captcha module and clicked on the reinstall button. I don't see the error anymore and can disable and uninstall if needed.

I suspect the source of the error is not specific to the this module, but related to something in core having to do with module management. I'll update if I figure anything out.
