Right now, the counter goes to https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/search/drupal?status[0]=1&status[1...
Needs to go to (and count) https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/search/drupal?status[0]=1&status[1... instead (note addition of category 5).

webchickUntested patch, but should be pretty straight-forward.

webchickAlso, this issue is blocking us from actually using this functionality in core (which is arguably where we need it most :)). Tagging.
drummLooks good.
drummNow deployed on Drupal.org.

webchickHey, cool! Thanks for the fast commit/deploy! :D
Seems to work. I set #2447573: [meta] Make sure 8.x - 8.x hook_update_N() testing is possible to a Plan, and the counter still says 21. Woot!

rpayanmThis is weird:

catchYes, re-opening for that. The contributors block (which I use all the time), no longer shows the right count or the right link.
tim.plunkettIsn't that just step 2 of #2503351: Ensure various queries, links, documentation take into account the new "Plan" issue category (the parent issue)?
webchickRight, we need a new issue that either adds a new entry in that block for plans or combines tasks + plans or... something.
Since that wasn't a 30 second fix, split this one off separately. :)
catchI missed the parent issue and couldn't find anything separate for the contributors block. I don't think we should use 'plan' for core until that's completed though - it's obscuring critical issues from people who use the block (like me) at the moment.
webchickSpun off #2504615: Update the Contributor Links dashboard block to account for the "Plan" category for that. If we can decide on the behaviour, should be a relatively quick fix.

rpayanmSorry for been obstinate :P
Here other place to fix:
