So just an FYI:
I have about 4-5 years of partime Ubuntu experience (so I'm not a noob and I've done some fairly complicated things before) but I am NO expert.
I gave up after about 6 hours work trying to install.
Worked a long time trying to figure out a work around for drush dependency issue with automatic install only to find out that I could let Ubuntu install drush 5 and still uses the version 6 I installed with composer.
I managed a kludge half auto/half manual install but there were still so many chunks missing that I was afraid I would never know if things were working right.

I'll definitely come back at some point and see if things are working better. I did appreciate all the documentation. Even if a some seemed out of date for Ubunut 14 it was easy enough to figure out the correct thing to do.

Complicated software but it looks very promising

Thanks,

The Debian drush package is no longer being maintained, so the new advise is to just remove it and go with composer.

The aegir3 debian packaged no longer depend on a drush package.

PS: 3.0 has just been released and we're looking to #2534734: [meta] Move docs to docs.aegirproject.org
