Chosen is only rendering on the "day" field on the Date field group, created by the Date module.
This makes it look weird, preferably I would like to also take control the Chosen settings on a Date field.

It is not a bug, module configuration (admin/config/user-interface/chosen) has "Minimum number of options for select" and by default it have 20 options per element, just switch to "Always apply" and all select boxes will theming as expected!
